Imperial College London - Panel Talk
I am absolutely thrilled and honored to have had the opportunity to speak at Imperial College London’s Black Ascent event this past Friday — a gathering that celebrated Black excellence, leadership, and empowerment in the world of business and entrepreneurship. 🌟
It was a true privilege to share my journey as a CEO and entrepreneur, diving into the realities of building and leading a company in today’s fast-paced, ever-evolving business landscape. I spoke candidly about the highs and lows, the risks and rewards, and most importantly, the resilience and purpose it takes to thrive as a leader — especially when navigating spaces where representation is still lacking.
From personal anecdotes to hard-earned lessons, I opened up about:
The importance of vision and intentionality in leadership
How to stay grounded in your purpose while scaling your business
Navigating imposter syndrome and carving out space for yourself in competitive environments
The power of community, mentorship, and lifting others as you climb
This event, beautifully hosted by Imperial College London’s African Caribbean Society (ACS), was about so much more than entrepreneurship — it was a celebration of identity, resilience, and impact. It created space for meaningful conversations around diversity, inclusion, and empowerment, and it was deeply inspiring to see such a passionate and engaged audience of students, young professionals, and aspiring changemakers all in one room.
A huge shoutout to the other phenomenal speakers who brought the house down with their wisdom and authenticity:
David McQueen, Joyce Omatseye, Bukki Ojo, Lauryn Mwale FRSA, and Ansumana Bai-Marrow, MBA — it was an absolute pleasure to share the stage with each of you. Your stories and insights truly made the evening unforgettable.
I’m beyond grateful for the chance to contribute to the dialogue around Black excellence and leadership in entrepreneurship, and I’m leaving this event even more energized to support the next generation of innovators and leaders.
