Athena Hack Panelist
I had an incredible experience on July 2nd, 2023 at Athena Hackathon 2023, hosted by the amazing team at ShowCode π¦©π. The energy, creativity, and collaboration on display were truly inspiring.
Not only was I honoured to be a panelist, sharing thoughts on diversity in tech and innovation, but I was also privileged to serve as a judge, alongside an exceptional group of industry leaders: Emma Britnor, Jess Rush, and Samuel Larsen-Disney. Being part of the judging process gave me a front-row seat to witness the brilliant ideas, technical excellence, and sheer passion that each team brought to the table.
A huge congratulations to the winning team for their outstanding innovation and hard work β your project stood out in an already phenomenal field of submissions. Truly, the calibre of talent at this yearβs hackathon was off the charts ππ‘
I'm especially proud to share that Black Girls in Tech was an official partner at the event. It was a proud moment to see members of our community not only attending, but actively participating and representing us so well. Events like Athena Hackathon are crucial for creating space where underrepresented voices in tech can shine, contribute, and lead.
A massive shoutout to Connar Walford β your effort, enthusiasm, and support made a real impact. Youβre an absolute star βοΈ
Lastly, thank you again to ShowCode for organizing such a fantastic, inclusive, and future-focused event. It's initiatives like these that truly move the tech industry forward by empowering the next generation of talent and fostering meaningful collaboration π
